Every year I am asked to make a list of gift ideas to give to family. I usually keep it pretty generic with gift cards and book ideas. But this year I want to highlight one of my absolute favorite places to shop for gifts: Etsy. This is not just any website, Etsy is individual makers who each have their own “shop” where they can post and sell their handmade items. It is full of unique gift ideas that you can’t find anywhere else. And another awesome perk is that most of those on Etsy are Moms and other women whose passion it is to create and when you purchase from them you are shopping from a small shop and supporting someone’s family.

So I have highlighted seven different types of unique gift ideas for women with one or more shops listed in each (I have so many favorites!). I have personally purchased from most of these shops, others I have just admired, and would love to be gifted any of these wonderful items.

Handmade jewelry

Beautiful beaded wrap bracelets from A Hole in Her Stocking

I have multiple wrap bracelets from Hole In Her Stocking, they can be worn when dressing up or just casually. I just love them!

Beautiful silk bracelet by Pretty by JL, great gift for a best friend

Again I have several silk braided bracelets from Pretty by JL, I love to stack the bracelets and wear more than one at a time. She has so many options and in addition to the chunky one above she has smaller ones, they make the perfect gift for your bestie as well.

Handcrafted Soap

Some of the best soap around, works great on sensitve skin and leaves your skin feeling smooth

Handmade soap is one of my favorites, it smells great, naturally made and comes in such cute packaging. I have some of Four Sisters soap and it just makes my shower feel more luxurious and makes my skin feel smooth.

Fun Mugs

Swallows Grace creates fun mugs for that DIY'er who has a love for thrift shops and Fixer Upper

I personally have a mug from Swallows Grace that reads “Queen of the Farmhouse” and I love it! It seems that when you have an awesome mug it just makes drinking your morning coffee all the more awesome. There are so many different options and I want them all!

Unique T-Shirts

Anyone else here obsessed with Rae Dunn mugs??!! What better way to show your love than with an awesome Rae inspired t-shirt!

A cute and comfortable shirt for the maker in your life

And this t-shirt is perfect for the maker in your life who loves to create. This is definitely on my wish list!

Chunky Blankets

I have fallen in love with these chunky knit blankets! They look so warm and cozy, I don’t personally have one but this is another item on my wish list!

Watercolor Custom Home Portrait

Ever since we moved into our farmhouse I have wanted to have a watercolor drawing done of the house. I love the somewhat abstract look and how the watercolors blend together. I would love to receive this as a gift to hang in our home.

Soy Wax Candles

This candle company is local to the Pacific NW and I have purchased one of their candles and LOVED the smell. All their candles have scents named for locations in Oregon and Washington and they have a new line focused on dogs!

Keep in mind that since these shops and others on Etsy are small and their items are handmade that most shops need time to make the item and then ship. Look for each shops policy section to learn more about turnaround time. Shop small Saturday is November 25, 2017 this year. If you are not familiar this is a day focused on supporting small businesses either online at places like Etsy or in your local community. Let’s support all the small makers out there with some awesome and unique gifts.
