Winter break for most kids has just begun and if you are already trying to figure out how to keep your kids entertained I have a fun and easy craft for you. I made some of these reindeer years ago before I had kids and for the life of me, I can’t remember why! All you need to do is make a trip to the thrift store or your game closet and find a puzzle that you no longer like or that may be missing pieces.

How To Make Puzzle Piece Reindeer
- Thrift store puzzle pieces
- Brown spray paint
- Glue Gun or Elmer’s Glue
- Red Pom-poms
- Craft Eyes
- Magnets or ribbon
Spray paint your puzzle pieces. A note though that the edge pieces don’t work as well for the reindeer as the middle pieces. (Our kitty, Stubby decided he had to check out what I was doing!) Each reindeer will require 3 puzzle pieces.
Once your pieces are painted you can start assembly. I used the glue gun to attach all the puzzle pieces and the nose. I used Elmer’s glue for the eyes so that the glue was hidden a little more.
Attach a magnet to the back of each reindeer or a ribbon loop for an ornament for the tree.
The great thing about this craft is that there are multiple ways to personalize them. You can make the nose a different color, choose larger eyes or draw the eyes on. Also it’s fun to play around with different size puzzle pieces. Whichever you choose just remember to embrace the imperfections that kids may do and enjoy the season!
