Can y’all believe that we have made it to 2020 already! As we start off this new decade and this new year I came up with a monthly thrifting challenge more for myself but figured I should share it all with you as well so you can play along! For as long as I can remember I have enjoyed perusing thrift stores, antique stores, and garage sales to find new and uncommon treasures. You can find all my favorite things to find at thrift stores in this post.

Another reason I wanted to do this challenge is that our world is filled with the new and mass-produced and although I do buy these types of items myself I enjoy finding the unwanted items and turning them into something new. Or finding old vintage wares and antiques and using them as is in my decor displays.

So as a result of my thinking this challenge was born! I have created a theme for each month and if you click the picture below you can get a free printable of the monthly themes to follow along.

For this first challenge in January, the theme will be wood. So think of the aisle at some thrift stores that have wood shelves, trays, old spice racks, etc. This is not necessarily for furniture as there will be a specific month devoted to furniture.

I will be going Live on my Facebook page the 2nd Wednesday of each month at 9 am PST to showcase that month’s theme and what I found related to the theme to give a DIY makeover.

If you choose to participate in that month’s thrift challenge theme I would love for you to tag me on Instagram @1905farmhouse so that I can share the projects with all my followers.
