I love making DIY gifts for many different occasions: housewarming gifts, extended family gifts, holiday gifts, etc. And I am always a huge fan of DIY gifts that keep on giving! So I created a garlic bread seasoning that you add to your favorite butter or margarine, to spread on your favorite bread or rolls.
I like to experiment with different spices when I am cooking. So when creating this garlic bread seasoning recipe I decided to write down what I used so that I could share it with everyone! This was a huge hit with the family on french bread!
Now to make this an awesome DIY gift for family and friends you will need just a couple of items. Find some small mason jars, or any smaller jar or even a Ziploc type bag would work too.
The recipe listed below will fit in a 4 oz mason jelly jar. To make the spread you would add a tablespoon of the spice mix to 1 stick of softened butter (1/2 cup). Mix it up well and then spread on bread. If you don’t like any of the spices that are in the mix you can always omit and add one you like. Also I used unsalted butter, if you use salted butter I would omit the salt in the recipe.
If you would like gift tags that include the instructions on how to use the spice mix just click on the link and it will take you to a free printable.
