During the late Winter and Spring season the wreath over our living room fireplace needs a little refresh. Usually though I am not ready for a Spring wreath and I want something that is decor for everyday and not a particular season. I have a variety of wreaths that I change out for the seasons but this year I was itching for something different. While perusing craft supplies on Amazon I found these faux magnolia leaves and thought these would make a perfect wreath. And of course I decided I needed to share this DIY faux magnolia wreath with all of you.

Supplies Needed for DIY Faux Magnolia Wreath
This DIY magnolia wreath project is a very simple one to complete in an afternoon, and could even be a project to complete during nap time! Another benefit is that it takes a small budget to complete. The supplies cost me about $40 because I already had the wreath ring and hot glue gun. I bought two bunches of magnolia leaves for this project so that the wreath would look full.
If you happen to have a real magnolia tree at your home or access to any fresh magnolia leaves you could complete this project with real magnolia leaves. Make sure to remember that the real leaves will dry once glued down so you will want to complete the project before they dry out. However if you do not then these faux magnolia leaves will be a great substitute.
These faux leaves come from Amazon but you may be able to find leaves loose or on stems at other craft stores such as Hobby Lobby, JoAnn’s, Michaels or any local craft store in your area.

The best type of wire wreath ring to use for this project is one that is flat. I have a supply of these at home so this is the one I usually pick. Most that you find online or in stores now are an arched frame which will be harder for the leaves to stay attached. However whichever one you area able to find can be made to work. I used a 14″ wire wreath form but you could also make a smaller wreath with a smaller wreath ring or make a larger wreath with a bigger wreath ring. Just know that if you make a larger wreath you will most likely need more magnolia leaves so there would be an extra cost.
These leaves came in a variety of sizes in the package and so when attaching them make sure you are doing a random pattern so that the sizes vary next to one another.
To start I placed three leaves on the frame and hot glued these to the frame. Then after this was started I glued each leaf on in a random pattern of three leaves making sure all of the frame was covered and the stems of the previous leaves.

Once you near the end of the gluing you will want to lift the bunch of magnolia leaves that started the wreath and tuck the stems of the last stem underneath with glue so that none of the frame shows.
After the glue has set you will want to take a piece of floral wire and cut a piece about 6″ long and then use it to create a loop that is attached to the back of the wreath ring. This will create a loop to hang the wreath above a fireplace or on a door.

And now the finished product:

This faux magnolia wreath would also look great as a front door wreath but my personal preference is to keep it inside the house and away from the weather elements.
A gorgeous wreath and one that is an easy DIY faux magnolia wreath to hang anytime of the year as part of your everyday home decor. And if you wanted to make this wreath as part of your Christmas Decor or for the winter season you could add some read poinsettia flowers on top of the leaves or faux snow branches.
