A boy’s bedroom can be decorated in many ways. Our son has gone through phases of farm animals, trains, dinosaurs and now as a teenager it is all about sports. However I am a big fan of having a boy’s bedroom decor be one that can grow with the child as their interests change. This has lead me now to challenge myself to do some baseball bedroom decorating for my son but while making sure the entire room flows together.
My son has been playing baseball since he turned 5 years old and started with t-ball and as he has grown he has become more involved and enjoys baseball immensely so some baseball decor was an excellent way to show his love for the sport.
After we moved in to this house we painted his room with a sage green color on all the walls except one which he chose to paint a navy blue so that he had an accent wall. This wall adds a great pop of color for this baseball-themed bedroom.
Before we decided to decorate with a baseball-theme he had already had several baseball items decorating his room. There was a painting he made with squirt guns and I added a quote from Babe Ruth and there was also a print I had bought years ago that explains the parts of a baseball glove.

The first thing I did with the decor is that I asked some of my extended family members if anyone had any old wooden baseball bats. My son loves the look and feel of the wooden bats and I was blessed to received two different wood bats that we hung above the window.

In addition to the bats he has a collection of baseballs that have been signed by coaches, that he has received as gifts or caught at various minor league games. In order to display these I found several options that could be purchased and chose to make a simple baseball display in the shape of home plate. (COMING SOON)
This bedroom has a twin size bed which is perfect size for the room. His grandmother had made a crochet baseball blanket that adorns his bed and is also a great addition as it is done in the team colors of the Seattle Mariners which is one of his favorite baseball teams.

Lastly was to display photos that I received from my Aunt. These photos were really special as my Grandfather had once tried out for the San Fransisco Giants. My Grandpa was part of a large group of men local to our area who played well into their adult years on local teams in the 1950s. I was happy to receive copies of all these lovely old photos and found a way to display them so that my son can read who is in each photo as well. These pictures will add the personal touch to his bedroom that will tie everything together.

This room is subtle enough for any baseball fan but also still can grow with him through his teen years.
